You will be starting the Annapurna Base Camp short trek with a drive from Kathmandu to Pokhara on the first day of the trip. From Pokhara, take a drive to the trailhead and begin trekking, following dense forest and mountain villages.

From the starting point of the trek, Syauli Bazar, you will reach the Annapurna Base Camp (4,130 m/13,550 ft) in three days of walking. On the way, you will spend nights in Chhomrong village and at the Himalaya Hotel. Pass by Hinku Cave and enter the Annapurna Sanctuary.

We will drive from Kathmandu to Pokhara today. It is a half-day ride. Leaving Kathmandu, we will follow smooth hillsides and drive along the Trishuli river. The ride offers beautiful landscapes and mountain views. Upon reaching Pokhara, settle in the hotel and spend the evening enjoying the serenity of the Phewa Lake.

In the morning, drive from Pokhara to Syauli Bazar via Nayapul. During the drive, you will get to witness beautiful countryside views. From Syaulibazar, start trekking via small villages and lush forests to Ghandruk village.

We can see mountains like Annapurna South, Hiunchuli, Nilgiri, Fishtail, etc, along the trail. The trail then ascends from Ghandruk village to Chhomrong, where we will spend the night. On the way, we will cross several suspension bridges.

From Chhomrong village, the trail descends and crosses the Chhomrong Khola. After crossing the, we will trek via settlements like Sinuwa and Khuldigar. The trail goes through dense forests of oak, rhododendron, and bamboo. Soon, we will arrive at a settlement called Bamboo and ascend from here to the Himalaya Hotel.

The trail goes uphill from the Himalaya Hotel, following a narrow gorge. We will continue walking along the Modi Khola glacier valley. The route is forested. On the way, we will come across the Hinku Cave, which is a large overhanging rock. The trail then enters the Annapurna Sanctuary. Further, we will trek on narrow, steep tracks and pass by Machhapuchhre Base Camp before reaching the Annapurna Base Camp.

Begin the morning with majestic mountain views and a warm cup of tea. After breakfast, we will leave the Annapurna Base Camp and descend steeply. The trail comes out of the Annapurna Sanctuary and descends to the Himalaya Hotel. From here, we will further trek down via lush forest to Sinuwa for the night stay. The short Annapurna Base Camp trek difficulty is moderate. It is an adventure hiking via rugged terrain and lush forest. Fit individuals can do the short Annapurna Base Camp trek. There are two main requirements for this trek- first, you should be able to walk 6 to 7 hours a day and second, you should be fine with high altitude.

The trek starts through dense forests. The trail ascends and descends constantly and enters the Annapurna Sanctuary. From her onwards, you will traverse steep, narrow tracks. What is the best time to do the short Annapurna Base Camp trekking?

The weather is generally stable, with warm temperatures during the day and cool nights in these two seasons.
